Allan D. Callow Young Investigator Awards

 “The Young Investigator Awards are named in honor of Allan D. Callow, MD, PhD. Dr. Callow was ISACB’s founding President and a champion for the integral participation of trainees in ISACB meetings. Since 1989, ISACB has awarded Young Investigator Awards to talented trainees working in the field of Applied Cardiovascular Biology.”

Elena Aikawa Trailblazer Award

The Elena Aikawa Trailblazer Award is an initiative of the ISACB Women’s leadership committee. Since 2024, this award recognizes a female member of ISACB who is at mid-career stage and has made substantial contributions to the applied cardiovascular research field and to the ISACB community. The Award is named after Dr. Elena Aikawa in recognition of her scientific accomplishments and dedication to mentoring female and underrepresented scientists.

Steven P. Schmidt Service Award

The ISACB Service Award is named in honor of Steven P. Schmidt, PhD. Since 2024, this award celebrates Dr. Schmidt’s exemplary service and long-standing leadership within the Society, and recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to advancing the goals and mission of the ISACB.

Alexander W. Clowes Lecture

As ISACB’s second President, Dr. Alec Clowes, MD was a key contributor to ISACB since its inception in 1987. Since 2016, the Alexander W. Clowes Lecture has honored his legacy as an outstanding clinician-scientist and his pioneering contributions to our understanding of vascular disease.
 

Robert M. Nerem Lecture

Dr. Robert Nerem, PhD was an inspirational mentor, colleague, and long-time friend of ISACB. Since 2021, the Robert M. Nerem Lecture commemorates his groundbreaking work at the confluence of biomechanics, bioengineering, and cardiovascular research within the ISACB community.

Manfred Deutsch Lecture

Dr. Manfred Deutsch, MD was an esteemed friend, mentor, and advisor to the Society. Since 2024, the Manfred Deutsch Lecture pays tribute to his profound contributions to the fields of biomedical engineering and cardiovascular surgery, and to his enduring impact on the ISACB.
