ISACB's 11th Biennial Meeting in Bordeaux, France, Sept. 17-20, 2008, will focus on cutting edge science and key issues in the translation of innovative cardiovascular research from the laboratory to the bedside. We have assembled an outstanding scientific program with 21 invited world-renown experts and proffered papers (as platform and poster presentations selected from a record-number of high-quality submitted abstracts) detailing the latest translational cardiovascular research derived from laboratories and patient care settings.
The scientific program is organized around 5 key themes: Innovative Cardiovascular Biomaterials, Developmental Cardiovascular Biology and Cardiovascular Pathology (Collaborative with the Society for Cardiovascular Pathology), Cardiovascular Mechano-Pathophysiology and Tissue Remodeling, Engineering Cell-based Regeneration of Cardiovascular Tissues, and Challenges in Clinical Translation of Innovative Cardiovascular Biology, Devices and Therapies (e.g. animal models, clinical trials, regulatory issues, reimbursement, etc.). We anticipate that basic, translational and clinical researchers, clinicians, and representatives from the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and cardiovascular device industries will enthusiastically attend and participate fully, as they have at past ISACB meetings.
With the assistance of local arrangements chair, Laurence Bordenave, ISACB has selected the Cite Mondiale as the venue for the 11th Biennial Meeting. This modern conference facility is just a short tram ride from the center of Old Bordeaux and features a state of the art amphitheater where the scientific sessions will be held, an adjacent salon for posters and exhibits and a 7th floor dining room and terrace with panoramic views of Bordeaux and the River Garonne. This venue will be the perfect setting for the collegial exchange of ideas that has been the hallmark of past ISACB meetings.
Social Program :No meeting in Bordeaux would be complete without the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of the region. Once again, Bordeaux local arrangements chair, Dr. Bordenave, has designed a social program for Bordeaux that should please wine connoisseurs at every level including a welcome reception, a reception at the Bordeaux city Hall (Hotel De Ville) hosted by the city of Bordeaux, a wine tutorial offered by a noted Bordeaux Wine School, a tour of Chateau Beychevelle, and a gala dinner/awards ceremony at Chateau Beaumont.
